JADE is an advanced software platform that has an integrated software development environment, a language, an object manager, and a high performance database.

Instructions

  1. Double click the background of AddBookForm.
The Properties dialog is displayed, as shown.
  2. Click the 'nail down' button in the properties dialog to keep the dialog permanently in view. The button picture changes .
  3. Click the button in the properties dialog to select the specific group of properties. (The different groupings of properties are explained in the next topic.)
  4. Change the caption property to Add a Book, which will change the title bar of AddBookForm.
  5. Change the mdiChild property to 1 (not an MDI form). MDI stands for multiple document interface. In an MDI application more than one document window can be displayed within the MDI frame.
You do not need an MDI frame for AddBookForm.
  6. Click the toolbar button to save the AddBookForm.

Forms and controls are objects in JADE, and have properties just like Book and Borrower objects.

You set initial values for their properties in the painter, but can modify them through code as the application runs.

Properties are arranged in four groupings in the Properties dialog shown in the diagram on the left.
