JADE — For Windows and Linux
JADE runs on the following Operating Systems on
Intel-compatible hardware:
- Windows
- Red Hat Linux
- SUSE Linux
From JADE 6.3, both 32-bit and 64-bit editions are available on all supported Operating Systems.
In preferred relationships, support for IBM-specific hardware platforms
is available on request.
JADE will be qualified on Windows 7 from versions 6.2.18 (August 2009) and
6.3.4 (July 2009). We expect JADE versions 6.2 and later to run under Windows 7 and will support them as per our published release policy on the Windows 7 Release Candidate and later releases.
As per http://support.microsoft.com/kb/891861, support for Windows 2000 ends on July 13, 2010. JADE customers who are still using this Operating System should plan to migrate to a later version before that date. JADE will not be supported on Windows 2000 once Microsoft support ends.
Note: Although minimum Service Pack levels are specified below, we recommend that customers keep up-to-date with Service Packs and security updates for whatever Operating System they are running.

Hardware
For minimum hardware requirements and a description of example production hardware configurations, please refer to the Minimum Operational Requirements section of the JADE Overview PDF.
relational population service (RPS)
RPS supports the following relational databases:
- Microsoft SQL Server 2000
- Microsoft SQL Server 2005
- Microsoft SQL Server 2008
From JADE 6.3, both the 32-bit and 64-bit editions of RPS are supported against 64-bit SQL Server. The 64-bit edition of RPS requires 64-bit SQL Server.
Virtual environments
JADE will run in a virtual environment on all supported Operating Systems (see above) on Intel-compatible hardware. Support will be provided as per the published release policy for faults found in a virtual environment, however a problem that is suspected to be related to an issue in the virtualisation layer may result in requests for additional customer diagnostic actions. In some rare cases, fixes for issues that are specific to the virtualisation layer may need to be negotiated with the customer.
Please refer to the Environmental Considerations white paper for more details about the use of virtual environments with JADE and the associated environmental requirements.
ANSI and Unicode
JADE is provided in both ANSI and Unicode editions. The ANSI edition
runs under Windows, Red Hat Linux and SUSE Linux for all versions
of JADE 6. In JADE 6.0, the Unicode edition is supported under Windows
only. From JADE 6.1, Unicode editions for Linux platforms are available on special request.
